This policy explains what information the Starcastic app and website (“Starcastic”, “we”, “us”) collect, why, and the choices you have. Starcastic is operated by ReallyCreativeIdeas.com Pte. Ltd., a company registered in Singapore. If you have any question, write to support@starcastic.app.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Birth details: your date of birth, and optionally your time and place of birth. We use these to calculate your birth chart.
• Profile details: the name or nickname you choose, your preferred horoscope tone (for example roast, hype or gentle), and, if you create an account, your email address or sign-in details from Apple or Google.
• Messages to support: anything you send us by email.

Information collected automatically

• Device and app information: device type, operating system, app version, language, time zone and a device or app identifier.
• Usage information: which features you use, and crash and performance reports, so we can fix problems and improve the app.
• Notification token: if you allow notifications, a token from Apple or Google that lets us send your daily horoscope.
• Invite information: when you send or accept a friend invite, the invite code and the link between the two accounts.

Purchases

If you buy a subscription or in-app purchase, payment is handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never see your card details. We receive confirmation of what you bought and whether your subscription is active.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos or microphone. The place of birth you enter is used only to calculate your chart.

2. How we use your information

• To calculate your birth chart and create your daily horoscope and readings.
• To run your account, subscriptions and friend invites.
• To send notifications you have switched on.
• To answer support requests.
• To keep Starcastic secure, prevent abuse and fix bugs.
• To understand how the app is used and make it better.
• To meet our legal obligations.

Some horoscope text is generated with the help of artificial intelligence services. To do this we send them the chart details needed for the reading (such as planetary placements and your chosen tone), not your email address. We do not allow these providers to use your information to train their own models.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. Who we share it with

We share information only with:

• Service providers who run parts of Starcastic for us: cloud hosting and databases, AI text generation, analytics and crash reporting, email and push notification delivery. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.
• Apple and Google, for app distribution, payments, sign-in and notifications, under their own privacy policies.
• Friends you connect with: when you accept or send an invite, the other person may see your chosen name and the readings you choose to share.
• Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect the rights and safety of our users or others.
• A buyer or successor, if our business is sold or merged, who must keep protecting your information under this policy.

4. International transfers

We and our service providers may store and process information in Singapore, the United States and other countries. When we transfer information abroad, we take steps so that it stays protected to the standard required by applicable law.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information within 30 days, except what we must keep for legal, tax or security reasons. Anonymised statistics that can no longer identify you may be kept.

6. Your choices and rights

• You can edit your birth and profile details in the app at any time.
• You can switch notifications off in the app or in your device settings.
• You can delete your account in the app, or by emailing support@starcastic.app from the address linked to it.
• Depending on where you live (including Singapore, the EU, the UK and California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent. Email us to make a request; we will reply within 30 days. You will not be treated differently for using these rights.
• If you are in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

7. Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls and other reasonable measures to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Age limit

Starcastic is for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top, and for important changes we will tell you in the app before they take effect.
